A Woman's Elegance!

Posted on November 1, 2013 at 7:30 AM Comments comments (0)

It’s Fabulous Friday Ladies!!!

Happy Friday to ya! Hope Ya'll had a fabulous week. Last week we disscussed first impressions, I wanted to take some some time to breakdown the elements of first inmpressions. Because it is is so imoportant how you allow people to se 'You'. Today's Hot Topic

A Woman’s Elegance

What is elegance? Elegance can mean many things. To some of us elegance may mean a certain air; a way we'd like to carry ourselves, or the way we'd like to be viewed by others. To others it can mean a feeling of serenity with our bodies, our pride in ourselves. For all the definitions of elegance, there's no doubt some women know they have it, and some women who don't. But most of all, elegance is the silent power that every woman has, but doesn’t always utilize to her advantage.

We look at pictures of so many female celebrities and they look so sure of themselves, and elegant, seemingly without even trying. And we wonder what gives them that “power” to walk into a room and own it. How does one achieve that, especially if you can't afford a personal trainer, a therapist, and three nannies? Different women have different routes to finding their elegance, and some of us get stalled along the way, by life-kids, work, and catching up on sleep. For all the single mothers, the working wives, and every woman in between, here are some basic ideas to uncover your elegance.

First things first, self-confidence! Self confidence is the difference between feeling unstoppable and feeling scared out of your wits. Your perception of yourself has an enormous impact on how others perceive you. Perception is reality — the more self confidence you have, the more likely it is you’ll succeed. We don’t enter the world with it. No one has it all of the time. Talking about it won’t help you gain it, and as women we have a particularly have a difficult time developing self-confidence. I have days when I wear and say the right thing, but I also have days that are quite the opposite. In my own personal experiences I’ve learned life is always going to be a haphazard for me, and I figure I'll never outfox it, so I'd better brave it instead. Ironically, knowing that I will make mistakes, that I will forgive myself and keep on trying, has given me the confidence I craved. When I was young, I thought confidence could be earned with perfection. Now I know that you don't earn it; you claim it. And you do that by loving the wacky, endlessly optimistic, enthusiastically uninhibited free spirit that is the essence of style, the quintessence of heart, and uniquely you.

Standing up for yourself can be really challenging if you're used to letting others have their way or you're a people pleaser. I had to learn, to defend myself, I gained the confidence that comes from speaking up. That confidence built till it propelled me beyond fury and into dignity. By keeping my head up, I'd kept the power. When you trim yourself down to suit everyone else, it's all too easy to whittle yourself away; learning to stand up for yourself is a way of ensuring other people respect you and don't try to push you around or manipulate you. Unlearning the old habits of self-effacement and gaining the confidence to stand up for yourself won't happen overnight so embrace the journey to self improvement.

Posture... says a lot about a person. Someone that stands up straight-looks forward not down-says confident. A person who slouches and hangs their head low-says, uncomfortable, and perhaps give a vibe that they are unapproachable and unfriendly. I am not suggesting that this is true all of the time-just that it is the first impression.

The way a person carries herself tells a story. People with slumped shoulders and lethargic movements display a lack of self confidence. They aren’t enthusiastic about what they’re doing and they don’t consider themselves important. By practicing good posture, you’ll automatically feel more confident. Stand up straight, keep your head up, and make eye contact. You’ll make a positive impression on others and instantly feel more alert and empowered.

Be sexy. Remember, every woman, I don't care who you are, is Fabulous; The reason the word sexy was invented. Play up your curves, your dimples, your apple bottom or deep caramel skin. Play up your elegance!

This does not mean wear ultra slulty clothes. It means wear bras and panties (worth the money) that show off those curves and slopes. Wear straight-leg jeans and a flowy, empire-waisted top. Wear at least a little bit of a heel, and walk with one foot directly in front of the other. This will make your hips swing without you having to think about it too much. If you think about it too much you'll look somewhat like a duck that has been drinking too much. And if you’re not comfortable wearing heels, practice practice PRACTICE! Wear heels around the house. Walk in front of a mirror so you can correct what you don’t like, and improve. This is great to do even without heels. Tip for walking in heels: your legs should be straight, lock your back leg nice and strong- to give you support, and the front leg to place in front of you. Take little steps placing one foot directly in front of the other. Keep your head up high looking straight ahead, not down, and keep your back up straight- not slouched.

Put on a little makeup. The point of make-up is not to cover up your face. It's to open it up and bring out the features that make you different from every other person walking the planet. Think light and fresh. Remember, you want to look like you, not some flawless representation of yourself. Wish your lips were poutier? Here's a cheap tip: Put on cocoa butter, and watch them plump up. Then add some peachy pink lip gloss over that. What a knockout smile!

Don't forget to add just a dab of perfume, not too much!

Have a great attitude. And attitude is infectious. If you're bubbly, happy and bright about things, you'll encourage those around you to feel good about themselves and the world around them. If you're morose, pessimistic, and down about everything, you'll soon infect others with the same negativity. We naturally prefer to be hanging around the person who makes us feel good about ourselves, and we're more inclined to listen and respond positively to someone who has a good attitude; by the same token, we're more likely to dismiss a person who tries to play the shrinking violet, the victim, or the permanently oppressed. Make the choice to feel and have a positive attitude.

Be Friendly. Think about what a friendly voice sounds like to you. What makes a voice sound friendly? A "friendly" voice lets people know that they can trust, rely upon, and be reassured by you. This will usually involve speaking clearly, naturally, with confidence, and without any nerves constricting your voice. The opposite to a friendly voice would include shouting or yelling, speaking too quickly, mumbling, and sounding urgent or irritated. Another way to perceive sounding friendly is as a way of speaking from the heart. This is best achieved by speaking with a deeper pitch of voice, slowing down the pace of delivery, observing plentiful pauses, and not trying to make your words appear too crafted or clever.

Watch how actors or speech givers you admire project a friendly voice. Think of an actor in a role where you perceived their character as friendly and note the tone, speed of delivery, facial expressions, and body language they present when in character. Use online videos to listen to their voice and watch their facial expressions as many times as needed.

Being Elegant is an entire package, so it's important to focus on yourself as a whole-having self confidence, poise, a great attitude, a friendly tone, and dressing your best! Don’t ever under estimate the power of your elegance. Start owning every room and heart you walk into (wink wink).

Enjoy your weekend my Fabulous Ladies and make your work week just as Fabulous to talk to ya next Friday Muuaaah!

First Impressions!

Posted on October 25, 2013 at 12:15 AM Comments comments (0)

Happy Friday to ya my Fabulous Ladies!!!!!

Hpoe ya'll had a fabulous week!  Today's HOT TOPIC is First Impressions!

There are so many factors that go along with making great first impressions, that I want to take the time to go over each factor over the next couple of Fridays. I beliveve as a woman it is imoprtant to know these little details that we sometimes tend to over look, because we are just way to be busy... I get it. But taking care of yourself should be your number #1 priority. Because when you're happy the world around is that much happier. So lets get into our first factor...

When you first meet someone, what do you notice first? Yes their Face! So many of us suffer from acne, blemishes, or other skin related issues that this I thought should be our first topic, because your face is your primary assest to making any sort of impression. What should you do you ask?

STEP-1

Start a daily face-washing routine, in the morning and at night. Consistency is an important part of maintaining a healthy complexion, so make sure you're doing these things every morning and night:

• Wash your face with a gentle cleanser. Avoid scrubbing too hard or using rough washcloths or loofahs. These may irritate your skin and cause blemishes to stay on your face longer.

• Use a toner (optional). If your skin is dry, not combination or oily, you can skip this step. Always get an alcohol-free toner, and get a toner that fits your skin type. Toner helps firm and tighten your skin as it wipes away dirt in your pores.

• Moisturize. If you tend to have oily skin, save the heavy moisturizer for nighttime and use a light or gel formula in the morning. Moisturize every time you wash your face, shave, or simply need the extra moisture.

• Remove your makeup every night. It can be hard to do this if you're very tired, but it pays off. Pick up makeup removal wipes at the drug store and rely on them when you're too exhausted to do the whole routine.

STEP-2

Treat acne. Try some of these rememdies to free your skin from acne. Consider:

• Salicylic acid gel or toner. Salicylic acid causes the skin to naturally exfoliate its layers quicker, thus helping acne go away, and also prevents new acne from forming. Use daily.

• Benzoyl peroxide lotion or spot treatment. If your acne is moderate or severe, you can find lotion products containing benzoyl peroxide that you apply evenly over your face, usually at nighttime. You can also find benzoyl peroxide in spot treatment formulas.

• Seeing a dermatologist. High-caliber acne treatments (like Accutane and Retin-A) do exist, but they must be used under the supervision of a doctor, which means you cannot get them without a prescription. If you're really at wit's end, make an appointment to see a specialist.

• Try face masks or pore cleaners. This is called exfoliation, and it washes away dead skin on the surface of your face. In the case of face masks, use only once a week. Buy an exfoliant at your local drugstore, or make one at home.

I was taught this home facial mask secret by a close family friend when I was in my teenage years. Breaking out as often as we do in those years, I always admired her flawless skin. At the time she was probably in her 60’s but her skin was so fabulous she literally looked half her age. I did try it and I never stopped since. Today I’ll share it with you…

Ingredients

1 Egg White

½ cup Oatmeal

½ cup Carnation milk

1) To ensure you only get the white part of the egg, put a small hole at the top and bottom of the egg and blow out the egg white into a small mixing bowl.

2) Add the oatmeal

3) Add the carnation milk

4) Mix thoroughly

5) Apply to your face and neck area

6) Let sit for about 15-20 min. In the mean time listen to some relaxing music to just help you unwind after your long day… this doubles up as your “You Time”. You will feel after some time the mask start to harden.

7) Rinse thoroughly

8 ) Pat dry with paper towel. I never use a regular towel on my face always a paper towel. Why? Because towels sit there collecting dirt then you pick it up and wipe your face with it… absolute NO NO that defeats the purpose. So always use a paper towel.

9) Repeat in one week. Only once week.

STEP- 3

Don't pick your pimples. It's usually not a good idea to pick your pimples. It may be tempting if that blackhead has staring you in the face for a day or two, but it's really not worth it. Picking your pimples can have adverse effects on your skin.

• Picked zits cause blemishes. Blemishes are inflammations in the epidermis and dermis, the outer and inner layers of your skin. It takes longer for the blemishes to heal when they are popped, so stay brave and resist the urge!

• Picked pimples could leave a scar behind. Pimples are temporary, but scars are forever. If you want smooth skin, don't make it harder on yourself by picking pimples.

• Don't touch your face. The oils and dirt from your hands will transfer to your face and can easily clog pores. Keeping your hands from your face will also help you break the habit of picking pimples.

STEP- 4

Only use fresh makeup and brushes. Makeup, like food, gathers bacteria and will eventually go bad. If you've been using the same powders, blush, eyeshadow and mascara for over 6 months, it's probably time to throw everything out and start over. Your skin will thank you for it!

• The only exception to this is brushes—these can be cleaned, not thrown away. Pick up an antibacterial makeup brush cleaning formula at the drugstore and, once a month or so, spritz everything down right after you finish your morning routine. Leave the brushes out to air dry throughout the day and overnight.

STEP- 5

Drink plenty of water. Aim to put down 6 to 8 full glasses of water a day, and you'll notice a difference in your skin. The extra fluid makes it easier for you to flush out toxins and waste.

• aim to drink at least 2.2 liters, or nine cups of water a day.[1] If you're having trouble drinking that much, cut out all sugary drinks from your diet entirely. Actually, you should try to cut out sugary drinks from your diet for your own health's sake.

STEP- 6

Sleep smart. You might be getting dirt and oil on your face while you're sleeping without even realizing it. Try these tricks to minimize your risk:

• Change out your pillowcase at least once a week. Your pillowcase collects dust, saliva, and other grime, which make it onto your face every time you sleep. Put your pillowcases through the wash or change them out regularly for best results.

• Pull your hair back. Braid back long hair, and keep bangs or fly-aways out of your face with a headband. This way your hair won't irritate your face while you sleep.

• Get your beauty rest! Sleep deprivation and stress can manifest as bad skin, so make sure you're getting 7 to 8 hours of quality rest every night.

STEP- 7

Maintain a healthy diet and exercise routine. A diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains will help your body and skin stay healthy. Exercising is a fantastic way to get rid of stress, to keep blood-flow pumping, and to ensure a good night's rest.

• Try to eat foods that give you the right kind of energy. Diets rich in sugar and refined (or "white) carbohydrates have been linked to more pimple breakouts than diets rich in protein, vegetables, and grains[2], although the scientific community isn't in total agreement. What is clear is that eating vegetables (beets, tomatoes, broccoli), protein (white meat, fish, nuts), and grains (quinoa, brown rice, buckwheat) are healthier for you. And what's healthy for you is probably better for your skin.

• Diets that are high in fat and filled with hormones may worsen skin conditions. Cows, for example, may be pumped full of hormones in order to produce more milk. That doesn't mean that you have to cut milk entirely out of your diet. Just be informed about what's going into your body, and don't make dairy a big part of your diet.

• Run, walk, swim. Do whatever exercise makes you feel good. Walking just 15 minutes a day is a great improvement over standing still. Exercise in general will help reduce the amount of stress your body generates over the course of the day. And stress will cause pimples. So in order to get that clear, smooth skin your body deserves, hit the gym, fire up the treadmill, or slice through the water. Your body will thank you.

With a good Skin Lightener many types of skin blemishes can become a thing of the past.

A good skin lightener can clear up dark spots and age spots in a few weeks, and other smaller blemishes such as spots from acne, can be cleared up in a matter of days.

But which product do you use?

Every skin lightening product claims to offer the best results for the money, but as we both know, product claims can be far from the truth - and on top of that, some of them can be downright dangerous.

So how do you pick one out from a seemingly unending selection of products out there? This is where we come in! We looked at all the best skin lighteners on the market and analyzed each of them to find out which ones use the most effective ingredients (with no dangerous ingredients) and which ones work best.

First - The Ingredients That Work

For a skin lightener to be effective, it not only has to use the right ingredients, it has to contain the right combination of ingredients as well. Many skin lighteners claim to be using the best of everything... but, be careful! Many do not contain the right amount of ingredients to turly achieve results. Here are the ingredients that have been proven to work:

• Alpha Arbutin: A compound derived from organic materials, Alpha Arbutin blocks the effects of melanin on the skin by evening out and brightening up skin tone.

• Octadecendioic Acid: Another powerful melanin blocker, this has been clinically shown to reduce melanin by 16.3% in just two weeks.

Citrus Unshiu Peel Extract: Extracted from rare Japanese citrus, Unshiu peel reduced the intensity of age spots by 28% in clinical trials!

Dangerous Ingredients to Watch Out for:

Unfortunately, many skin lighteners still use ingredients that are proven to be a hazard for skin care. Using a skin brightener with these ingredients can cause adverse effects than the results you wanted to see! The following ingredients can cause serious damage to your health:

• Hydroquinone: This carcinogenic chemical is actually banned in most countries except the US! Besides increasing skin sensitivity, it has been linked to tumor growth. This is definitely not something you want to be applying on to your skin.

• Mercury: Believe it or not, mercury is still used in some skin brighteners. The reason is because it is inexpensive. Be very careful of this as it is one of the most harmful things you can put on or near your body. Mercury can destroy your kidneys as well as your nervous system. Mercury is used more often than you think, so always, ALWAYS read the label carefully.

Which Products Work Best?

Which products are shown to be the most effective while still contain safe ingredients?

Out of everything I've looked at, only a few fit the bill. The majority of products simply don't achieve the results they claim and many of them still use ingredients that are detrimental to your health.

However, the ones that truly stand out simply work wonders! A couple of the products I reviewed did everything right with their formulas. They contain the best ingredients tested in clinical trials to reduce all kinds of skin blemishes. They are safe to use... and receive glowing reviews.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND:

It works for me, this product is simply amazing.

Tips

• Use gentle facewash and cleansers. Massage with coconut oil, olive oil and milk cream.

• After the shower, lie down and lay a hot towel over your face for extra softness. Add mostuirizing cream for even more softness.

• If your hair is clean, there's less chance that oil and dirt will transfer to your face.

• You might want to try a blackhead cleanser if regular face washing doesn't do the job.

• Put ten drops of lemon into a bowl and use a clean, warm cloth to apply it onto your face, neck and chin. Next, mash up avocado with milk and honey to use as a face mask.

• Shower every day. When you are in the shower wash your face gently and apply a moisturizer after.

• Do not scratch your face.

• Don't put makeup for natural beauty but if you couldn't resist it wear just a little bit.

• Take cold water and pat under the eye.

• Use different towels for your face and body.

• Look for products that say non-comodegenic, which means that they won’t clog your pores and cause acne.

• You may be allergic to some of the chemicals in products, so be sure to test it on the inside of your wrist before putting it on your face.

• Make sure you protect yourself from the sun by wearing sunscreen and staying out of direct sunlight. Makeup believe it or not also acts as a protective agent for your skin against direct sunlight. Excessive exposure to sunlight can irritate and harm your skin making blemishes even darker.

You are Fabulous!

Posted on October 18, 2013 at 11:10 AM Comments comments (0)

Hey My Fabulous ladies Happy Friday to ya!!!!!

This was week was a little crazy for for me. Between work, the kids and finding a little me time, I was exhausted and mentally drained, so much so that I just didnt feel like doing anything... So I thought what a fabulous topic to talk about... Motivation! I'm sure I'm not alone.

Success is hard work, to say the least. When things get difficult, it’s easy to get discouraged. Don’t let that happen. Just reassess the situation to help you move forward. I run into obstacles constantly but I constantly remind myself why I am doing what I do and of my goals. I will keep going until I succeed then go towards my next goals. You should too.

Have you ever sat down at your computer to work on a paper only to find yourself checking your Facebook posts instead? Or watched your pile of dirty laundry grow until it practically takes over your room? Of course you have! We all need a little push now and then to tackle things we don’t want to do. It’s only human. Whether you have a secret passion you’ve always wanted to pursue or need a nudge to help you tackle your job, classwork or a chore, these motivational tips will help get you moving. Let’s get started!

 1. Do something…ANYTHING! Make a list. Get organized. Get your brain in gear. And just begin. Since getting started is always the hardest part, promise yourself that you can stop in 15 minutes if you want to. By then you may be on a roll and want to keep on going until the job is done!

2. Divide and conquer. No one says you have to do it all in one sitting or even one day. Divide big tasks into smaller ones, and focus on completing just one task at a time. If you’re writing a paper, start with the first paragraph; if you’re running out of clean clothes to wear, at least sort your laundry into dark and light piles. Feel good about your accomplishments. You’ll be surprised how much you can do if you take it one step at a time.

3. Stay positive. It’s practically impossible to get motivated when you’re down in the dumps. To shake that bad mood, turn on your favorite music, pull up the window shade and let the sun shine in or go for a short run or walk. You’ll feel much more productive once you get your juices flowing.

 4. Ask a friend for help. You know the saying: two heads are better than one. Well it’s true. Besides, you might find that your friend is in need of a little motivation, too. Sometimes just knowing that you’re not in it alone can be very motivating.

 5. Talk about it. Talk therapy is cheap and it’s a great way to get fired up about something you want or have to do. It also makes you accountable, which means your friends will expect you to follow through. Tell as many friends as you can about what you’re trying to accomplish and ask for their encouragement.

 6. Visualize the outcome. Imagine what will happen if you never pursue your personal passion…if you keep putting off writing that paper…if you never take a minute to get to know that cute guy in your math class. Now imagine what will happen if you do. Linking negative outcomes with not acting and pleasurable outcomes with taking action is a standard motivational technique. See if it works for you.

 7. Fuel your body and your brain. A six pack of Dr. Pepper, three café grandes or a tall can of Red Bull will definitely get you moving. But for energy that lasts, exercise regularly, get plenty of sleep and skip the sugar. Nothing can kill a burst of motivation faster than a caffeine or sugar crash.

 8. Reward yourself. You know you’re going to feel really good about yourself when you finally achieve what you’ve set out to do. But in the meantime, set a few progressive goals and reward yourself when you reach them with something you’ll really enjoy—like some new iTunes or a night out with your BFF! It doesn’t have to be big…just big enough to keep you going in the right direction!

 9. Dress for success. Did you know certain colors can affect your mood? Wear red to boost your confidence, yellow for intelligence or orange for energy and mental stimulation. Light blue, green or pink will calm you down if you’re feeling tense. And if you’ve got a lucky t-shirt, put it on!

 10. Remember why… It’s easy to stay on course when you’re feeling motivated, but motivation can fade as time goes on. Make a list of reasons why achieving your goals are important to you, and keep the list where you can see it. Read your list aloud whenever you need a boost to get you going again.

There are a lot of people out there, who will tell you that you can’t, what you have to do is turn around and say “WATCH ME!” My Fabulous ladies STOP dreaming, START living, STOP thinking and START believing!

YOU ARE FABULOUS!

Enjoy your weekend my Fabulous Ladies and make your work week just as Fabulous talk to ya next Friday Muuaaah!

The $100.00 Shopping Challenge-Part 2

Posted on October 11, 2013 at 7:30 AM Comments comments (0)

It’s Fabulous Friday Ladies!!!

Happy Friday to ya! Last week’s Hot Topic was Fall Fabulousness! We spoke about the importance of looking good without having to go broke doing it. So I came up with the $100.00 challenge. I promised to go shopping and put together as many outfits as I can using only $100.00 ca$h, no credit cards. I am so excited to show you all what $100.00 can buy, I’m going to get straight to it… this is what I got…LOL!

How I Did it…

1. Keep a shopping list. Making a shopping list will help you stay focused on the shopping task at hand and reduce splurge purchases.

2. Know what looks good on you. Just because it looks great in a magazine doesn’t mean it will look great on you. Be honest with yourself about your body. It will save you time and money. Don’t be afraid to try something new. If your style is conservative don’t think you can’t pull off a conservative look with a pair of leggings. Depending on your work environment it may be a little much but you can still look conservative by wearing a longer shirt or sweater that will cover up your booty yet still create a fun yet conservative look.

3. Head to the outlet malls. Shopping at the outlets of your favorite stores and designers can save you a bundle. Some of my favorites are the Chelsea Premium Outlet, Tanger Outlet, Off Fifth (The Saks Fifth Avenue Outlet), the St. John Knit Outlet, the Donna Karron Outlet, and the Last Call Neiman Marcus Outlet.

4. Hit the sale racks. It is over whelming at times to go through those endless sales racks but it’s worth it! At some stores you can get more percentages off using coupons on the already reduced prices. But, be mindful that some stores their return policy states; sale items are final sales. So make sure you love it before you buy it! Otherwise you’re just wasting money.

5. Learn where to buy. Make a list of your favorite stores. There are many stores like Rainbow, Mandees, Payhalf, Charlotte Russe, Too Cute, and the list goes on, that sell rather inexpensive clothes and accessories. Not only are their clothes inexpensive but they usually have great sales that reduce their already low prices.

Now, the quality may not be that of the Gap or other like competitors but if you care for them properly they will last you for some time. Remember, usually once the season changes you always get the urge to get new things to jazz up your wardrobe for that particular season. Once that season has passed there are three new seasons that follow. So by the time you get back to that same season again, there are new fashion trends out, and most likely you will not wear those old clothes much. So why spend a fortune. I mean if you got it, you got... But for those of us that are always on a budget this is for you. Shop smart.

Many of the higher quality stores will allow to you to return an item without a problem as long as you have the receipt. One shopping trick is to purchase the item that you like although it may be at full price because it is a new season item, hold on to it with your receipt, and return it at the end of the season, to get the lower reduced sales price. Always check the stores return policy because some stores have a 30day return policy, the seasons are approximately three months long which is well over 30days. Or if you want it that badly just return turn and repurchase every 29days until the season is over…lol Hey! If you can why not??? Lol

6. Learn when to buy. July/August and late January/February are the best times to hit the stores for deals. The top sample sales in NYC usually happen between Mother’s Day and Father’s Day and after Christmas. Write down the names of your favorite stores, go to their websites, and register to receive coupons, special invitations and notifications of new products. Many stores, like Steve Madden, give coupons to shoppers for registering for their email list serve. Outlet stores are also great sources of designer goods.

7. Off season deals. Make sure you also look into off-season deals and special offers. If you are looking for the best swimwear, for example, you will be able to get it for much less when you buy them during early spring or late fall. You can save thousands while still getting the dream fashion pieces you want this way.

8. Recycle fashion. Pay a visit to your mother and/or grandmother. While you’re there, offer to help clean out her closet. You’ll be amazed at the goodies you’ll find. While visiting my mama, I discovered a vintage Coach bag, dating from around 1970, in mint condition in a box. If you are unable to visit a relative’s closet, hold a Clothing Swap party with your friends. Ask everyone to bring unwanted, high-quality clothing to exchange for similar items from other party-goers.

9. Keep it Simple. With a basic Pair of Jeans and or Leggings you can create multiple outfits by just changing your top and accessories. So don’t go to crazy… There’s no need.

10. Last minute shopping is a no no. If you have a function to go to plan what you would like to wear ahead of time. Last minute shopping always results in over spending.

11. Get Mobile Apps. There’s several top mobile coupon apps, available for smart phones (Blackberry, iPhone, Android, etc), that help you compare prices between stores, send you coupons, and more. Many charge $.99-$3.99 per month for the app, so make sure you use them frequently to get the most for your money.

12. Know the names of sales associates. Sales associates are a great source of information on upcoming sales and have access to Friends and Family coupons, which offer up to an additional 25% off store merchandise. Some might even let you use their employee discounts.

Now let’s get into some of my favorite Stores:

Everyday Clothing:

Mandees, Pay Half, Charlotte Russe, Rainbow, Forever 21, Too Cute

I’m Going Out, So Let’s Step It Up A Notch, Clothing:

And my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!!!...XSRE

This store is like a humungous candy store of accessories!!! Earrings, rings, necklaces, bracelets, scarves, hand bags, and the list goes on… they carry all kinds of costume jewelry designs, for every look or occasion imaginable, and is very inexpensive. I absolutely love this store! Definitely my go to store for accessories.

Last but not least basic essential 'Must Haves' for your wardrobe:

Leggings: Very inexpensive $5.00-$12.00. They come in all colors they make your legs look fabulous no matter what sexy size you are, and are very versatile with any top you throw on.

Costume Jewelry Accessories: Make any look POP with the right accessories. You don’t need much just the basics a set of Gold earrings, Silver earrings, Gold bracelets, and Silver Bracelets. These basics will allow you to interchange between outfits without having to buy too much. You can always play around with neck pieces as well. Tip: if your earrings are elongated you do not need a necklace it be too much, so choose either or, not both.

Heels: Every woman needs at least one Slamming pair of heels. If you don’t like to wear heels at least have one! Preferably black so you can wear it with anything. I am a shoe girl so I like buy heels in any color or style that look extraordinary to me.

Coat: One good super fly coat or jacket for the colder days. And you don’t have to pay a fortune for it, use all the tricks I’ve mentioned. Because, After getting all dressed up, weather its casual, or glam, you can’t just throw any old coat on. That just messes everything up…Hellooo…lol. So get at least one stylish coat or jacket. Look for styles that accentuate your curves. This will make you look slimmer with all the added layers you may be wearing during the colder months. Again, I prefer black, because you’ll be able to wear it with anything.

The $100.00 Shopping Challenge!

Posted on October 4, 2013 at 8:30 AM Comments comments (2)

Hey My Fabulous Ladies, Happy Friday to ya!!!!!

Yes it’s Friday! PAY DAY!!! Which brings us to this Friday’s Hot Topic… Fall Fabulousness!

This is one of the most confusing times of the year, the transition from summer fabulous to fall fabulous. The school year has started and you still don’t have your wardrobe together or you’re back at work and you just want to jazz your wardrobe up for the season. The hardest question for most is “what do I buy?” The weather is hot one day, then cold the next. And before you know it, winter will be here in full blast. So let’s talk Shopping!

I always get so many compliments about my style and about the clothes that I wear, people wanna know “where did you get that?” ... lol, if only they knew. As much as I love to look fabulous, I hate going shopping! I know… I hear it all the time, ‘what woman hates to shop’… ME! Don’t judge me…lol. I’m just the in-and-out type of girl. I can’t stand the long lines, and the looking and looking through racks and racks of clothes…uuugh! I’m extremely picky and I’m also a very frugal shopper. When I shop, I make sure that what I buy is really what I love, and, can get the most wear out of.

I truly believe that any one can look fabulous, and you don’t have to spend a lot of money doing it… I don’t. You just have to know where to shop, which must have items to include in your wardrobe, choosing the right accessory pieces, how to put things together in fun, sexy, creative ways, and how to change up your hairstyle to match the style of clothes you’re wearing. It’s all about being creative! I know... I Know… I can already hear some of my girls saying, ‘Shopping !?! I just don’t have the budget for that.’ I truly believe that when you look good, you feel good, and you don’t have to go broke doing it. And I’m gonna show you…

The $100.00 Shopping Challenge! Ladies… I’M GOING SHOPPING! I’m going to put together as many Fabulous Fall outfits as I can; that can also double up as winter wears, using only $100.00. Why only $100.00 because I’m using CA$h…Lol and that’s the challenge.

It is often so convenient to pull out a card to pay for your items, but that convenience can contribute to impulsive spending. So, when you have cash, you may think twice about a purchase especially when you have to watch your cash disappear. This is a trick I use when I shop, because being broke is not Fabulous ya’ll!

So, we are leaving the credit cards at home you guys, and let’s see how many Fabulous “Fall Fashion” outfits, I, your Fabulous stylist can come up with…

Next Friday you will get pics of my adventure, as well as the full blast details on when, where, and how; you’ll get the scoop on all my favorite stores, my fabulous shopping secrets, and great ways to get discounts without always carrying a truck load of coupons!

I can’t wait to show you all the goodies I come up with next week… in the mean time, enjoy your weekend my Fabulous ladies and make your work week just as Fabulous. Talk to ya next Friday Muuaaah!

Make-up Magic!

Posted on September 27, 2013 at 11:30 AM Comments comments (0)

Good morning my Fabulous Ladies!

It is Friiiiday!!! The start of the fabulous weekend and today’s Hot Topic is Make–Up Magic. Yes there is magic in make-up Ladies! So many of us underestimate the magical powers of make-up. As a stylist for so many years, I’ve noticed that the biggest mistake women make all the time is, not wearing any make-up on a regular basis. It’s simply not enough to just get your hair done. Make-up truly enhances your beauty. It gives you that finishing touch. It’s the icing on the cake, the whip cream on the hot chocolate, should I go on?…lol!

Some of us women get caught up in the idea that make-up will make you look fake. Others, you’re scared of making the mistake of not applying it properly. So then you just run away from it all together, and that’s the mistake: not trying at all.

The make-up industry has come such a long way and offers us so many options. You should embrace these options and find out what works best for you. For those who are just getting started, here are some basics to start off with:

1) Concealer (for blemishes and dark spots under the eyes)

2) Foundation (For full face coverage)

3) Powder (so the foundation lasts longer)

4) Mascara (for lengthening and enhancing your naturally beautiful lashes)

5) Blush (for added color to accentuate those beautiful cheek bones)

6) Lip Gloss (to give those luscious lips some shine)

7) And a set of good brushes (for application of make-up)

(Simple Basic Products you should always have)

This process only takes about 15min to apply in the morning.

So, the other popular excuse: “I don’t have time”… is…wait… where’s my buzzer at…eeaaaaah… wrong! Lol! I’m a mother of three so I know what it’s like not to have time. It makes such a huge difference, especially when your hair is a mess and you can’t get to the salon right away and you need to face the world… you know, you’re co-wokers, your boss, that friend you haven’t seen in ages all of a sudden, here she comes down the super market isle, and of course your man!!! Trust and believe, he’ll be the first to say“what you puttin all that stuff on for?”, but you betta believe he’s looking at the next female with all that stuff on…lol. So listen here ladies, get yourself together PLEASE!

“I don’t know what to get”…. Ok, so let me help you out. Like I said, start off with the basics. If you look at my sample pic, I’m wearing just the basics and it made such a difference. To get the right shades visit a make-up counter. They will give you free consultations to help you find the right matches to your skin tone and type. Some of my favorite counters are MAC, Fashion Fair, and Sephora.

I have EXTREMELY sensitive skin and not all make-up brands work well with my skin. After trying out so many different brands, I found that MAC Products are my best friend. Their products are amazing!!! The quality is fabulous and it lasts all day. They are a tad bit expensive but what I say to that is, it’s going on your face not your buttocks so if something goes wrong you can’t sit on it so no one sees it, so why not invest to get the right stuff… It’s your face, can’t hide that… lol!

Fashion Fair is also a good one. Fashion Fair, released a liquid foundation in July to add to the range of colors. Nineteen shades! There will be 17 shades in liquid! So you really are getting a lot of coverage options and colors.

I also love Sephore because it’s like a candy store!!! Soooo much to choose from that for first timers It can be a tad bit confusing and overwhelming. But, they have exceptional artist that are willing to help you find what you need. Most of these counters will also give you free samples but you have to ask. So if you’re unsure about a product take a sample home try it out before making your final decision.

I DO NOT recommend you go to any of these counters on the weekend because it will be the most frustrating thing ever!!!! TOOO MANY shoppers! You will end up feeling rushed or frustrated and just want to give up. (And for the record, I don’t wanna hear that you gave up. I will find you, and take you to the counters myself…lol.) So try going on an off day, during the week. The customer service is much better because the volume of customers is less. And take a friend with you to get a second opinion.

You can find great sets of brushes at these counters as well but I like the Essence of Beauty Deluxe Duo Set $14.99 which is sold at CVS. They are inexpensive beginner brushes, soft and durable and is properly labeled on the side of the brush so you know what to use it for.

Another tip for wearing make-up is to properly wash it off at night. Sleeping in your makeup can result in fine lines on the skin and can clog your pores while you sleep, resulting in acne. So you should use Make-up wipes, facial soap, and water to properly cleanse your skin at night. You can find make-up wipes at your local drug store, some great brands are Neutrogena, Bare Minerals, Sephora, and Johnson’s. They are between $8.00-12.00 for a pack of 25wipes. Be on the lookout sometimes they do go on sale, so rack up.

Check out you tube tutorials on how to apply and have fun practicing on your time off, even if you can get just five min. of practice time before going to bed or early in the morning. Practice makes perfect, once you get the hang of it you are guaranteed to love it. Have fun with it!

Wearing make-up for the first time does take some getting used to. But it is definitely a confidence booster because when you look good you feel good! Once you start you will definitely notice the difference, you will receive so many compliments. People who are not use to seeing you with make-up on will ask you … “Where are you going?” Just reply back… I’m on my way to being FABULOUS! ...lol! Always remember to Live for yourself, Love yourself, and Laugh because you can.

Enjoy your weekend my Fabulous ladies and make your work week just as Fabulous with your new faces and magical powers lol! Let me know how it goes, talk to ya next Friday Muuaaah!

- Carline
